Burn More Calories with Heart Smart Cardio
Burn more calories throughout your strength training workouts by incorporating this “Heart Smart Cardio Move” in between each exercise. This is a challenging exercise, so if you’re a beginner start without a step. As you progress up the intensity and do the squat jumps on a step then a higher step or even on a Bosu. Remember when performing any kind jumps always absorb the shock of the jump with your glutes and your toes.
Do it Right:
- Begin standing in a neutral position lengthwise on a step – feet hips distance apart, knees soft, abdominals tight & chest lifted
- Jump up & off the step – land in a squat position w/ feet on either side of the step & hands touching the step, absorb the shock with your glutes and the balls of your feet
- Immediately spring back up to land w/ both feet back on the middle of the step to complete 1 rep
