Holiday decorating, the holiday season and winter time can be tough on your back. This time of year we lift more boxes, climb on ladders for holiday decorating and even shovel snow – definitely not one of my favorite things! All of these are activities that our bodies are not use to performing. This time of year and always it is important that you protect your back and keep your core strong.
Simple low back and arm stretches, taking a couple of breaks and taking it slow and easy will really help with muscle stiffness or soreness when you are shoveling snow. As far as holiday decorating, remember to lift from your knees, ask for help if it is too heavy and keep your abs tight to protect your low back. Stay safe and healthy during the holidays.
