Jump Up – Step Down

Get Your Heart Rate Up and Burn More Calories with the Jump Up Step Down Move

Burn more calories throughout your strength training workouts by incorporating this “Heart Smart Cardio Move” in between each exercise. Keep in mind the higher your step the more challenging the exercise. When jumping be sure to land softly and absorb the shock of your jump with your glutes and your toes. I love workouts that keep you moving and keep your heart rate up – give it a try this week. Remember to use good exercise technique.

Do it Right

  • Begin standing in a neutral position facing a step with feet hips distance apart, knees soft, abdominals tight & chest lifted
  • Using both feet quickly jump up on the step, pause, then step down with left foot then right foot
  • Switch sides and repeat
