Banish the Belly Bulge
Legs In & Out is a ‘no crunch’ exercise that really helps you to target those hard to tone lower abdominals. Be sure to focus on your abdominal muscles otherwise your hip flexors, the small muscles in the front of your hips, will take over and you won’t be getting the core benefit. Make it more challenging by squeezing a light weight dumbbell or medicine ball between your ankles. Over your next few workouts aim for 3 sets of 10 to 15 reps of this exercise to really sculpt and tone your lower abs.
Do it Right
- Sit on end of a bench w/ hands on bench behind you for balance, lean back as far as you can keeping abdominals tight, extend legs straight out to hip height
- Contract abdominals, exhale & simultaneously bring upper body to 90 degrees and flex knees toward chest
- Extend legs & upper body back to starting position
