Have Fun Doing Crunches
Partner Drills – Crunches w/ a stability ball
It’s always more fun to workout with a buddy and here’s a fun way to do crunches. Lie on the floor and hold a stability ball between you and your partners feet. Be sure to keep your knees bent to 90 degrees and keep the ball as still as you can. Make it more challenging by holding a light weight small medicine ball between your feet.
Don’t have an exercise buddy but still want the added challenge – simply hold the ball up against a wall or flat surface with your feet.
Do it Right:
Lie face up on mat w/ feet up in the air hips distance apart, knees & hips bent to 90 degrees holding the ball between you and your partners feet. Place your fingertips on back of head w/ elbows back and pointed to the side. Contract abdominal muscles, flatten low back, keep neck and chin in a neutral position, exhale & slowly lift shoulders up as high as you can shortening the torso then slowly lower back down keeping shoulders off the mat.
Thanks to Lauren and Kate for the fun demo!
