Strengthen Your Lower Back
Having a strong Core makes everyday tasks like carrying groceries, yard work, house work or taking care of children a lot easier. When exercising for core strength it is important to focus on the entire torso, some experts go so far as to define the ‘core’ from the thighs to the shoulders. Superman exercises are a great way to strengthen the lower back. Be sure to breathe properly and stop immediately if you feel any pain.
Do it Right
- Lie on the floor on your stomach extend arms & legs straight out with palms on the floor
- Contract abdominals and lift arms, head and shoulders & legs up at the same time & off the floor as high as possible, keeping arms & legs extended and hands & feet the same height off the floor, slowly lower arms & legs back down – completely relax
