Peanut Butter Protein Balls

Post Workout Snacks are Important
No matter what your fitness goal it is important to have a healthy post workout snack. A healthy snack not only helps restore energy but also aids in recovery. According to fitness trainer Ryan Schmidt – peanut butter protein balls are a great choice. His recipe is easy to make and includes tips on how to limit sugars, gluten and processed foods. He suggests having the ingredients ready and mixing them together as soon as you are finished exercising. Remember to keep your post workout snacks healthy and if you can eat within 30 minutes of your workout.
- 3/4 cup natural peanut butter
- 2T maple syrup
- 2T unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup rolled, gluten free oats
- 1/8 cup almond milk
- salt to taste
Optional Add In Ingredients
- Seeds (pumpkin, chia, flax, hemp)
- Ground cinnamon
- Shredded coconut
- Protein powder
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Roll into balls. Store in refrigerator or freezer.
