Mix it Up a Little
How are your workouts? Are you finding that you are bored and tired of doing the same thing over and over again? The idea for this article came from my daughter, she came upstairs after working out and said I just changed up my music and my cardio was a lot more fun today! What a great idea, in fact, studies have shown that music actually helps you workout longer and harder.
That simple comment got me thinking about other ways to help eliminate being bored or losing interest when exercising. Pick one and give it a try this week; my favorite is walk, jog and run for 1 song!
- In keeping with the music theme; walk for 1 song, jog the next then run for the third song. Repeat until you are done with your play list.
- Pick what’s fun! If you don’t like the treadmill, try a bike, elliptical or row machine or better yet take your workout outside.
- Incorporate a stability ball or medicine ball into your fitness routine. You can sit on the stability ball and do your shoulder or biceps exercises.
- Change up your entire exercise program as often as possible, you will get better results and you will never be bored.
